Terms for a useful, fair technology community.

Agreement and scope

By accessing or using dopetech.au, you agree to these terms and policies linked from them. If you use DopeTech for an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it for that use. If you do not agree, do not use account or contribution features.

These are general website terms. A signed order form, research engagement, advertising agreement or enterprise contract prevails to the extent it expressly conflicts. The contracting legal entity and service-specific terms must be identified in that document.

Prototype, sample and availability

Features can be changed, paused or withdrawn. We do not promise that every planned function, product record, link, video or community tool is continuously available.

Accounts and authority

When accounts are enabled, provide accurate information, protect authentication details and promptly report suspected misuse. You are responsible for activity under your account unless applicable law provides otherwise. Do not share an individual account, impersonate another person, or use an organisation’s name without authority.

Administrators of an enterprise account may control access, profile fields and organisation submissions. Their instructions can affect your use of that workspace. Minimum-age and consent requirements under applicable law continue to apply.

Your reviews, comments and submissions

You retain ownership of original content you submit. You give DopeTech a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, format, moderate, display, distribute and promote it for operating and explaining the service. The licence is sublicensable to infrastructure and distribution providers and lasts while the content is used, including reasonable archival and backup periods. Where practical, public attribution follows the display name you chose.

You confirm you have the rights and permissions needed for the submission; it is based on genuine experience where presented as a user review; and required employment, gift, vendor or affiliate relationships are disclosed. Do not upload confidential material, personal information about others without authority, or content that violates law or third-party rights.

Feedback about the platform may be used without an obligation to compensate you, but this does not transfer ownership of unrelated inventions or confidential business information.

Acceptable use

You must not:

• manipulate ratings, votes, referrals or engagement through fake identities, coordinated campaigns, incentives hidden from readers or automated traffic;
• probe, scan, exploit or bypass security controls except under the written vulnerability disclosure rules;
• introduce malware, scrape at a rate that impairs service, or access data and functions you are not authorised to use;
• harass, threaten, deceive, defame or unlawfully discriminate against others;
• copy, republish or train a commercial system on substantial site content unless authorised by law or written agreement;
• use DopeTech marks, ratings or quotes in a way that falsely implies endorsement or an unchanged current verdict.

Search-engine crawling that respects published robots directives and does not disrupt the service is not prohibited by this clause.

Editorial information, videos and third-party offers

Reviews and comparisons are general information and opinion at a point in time. They are not personalised financial, legal, medical, security, procurement or engineering advice. Validate requirements that matter to your safety, compliance or business operations.

Product prices, availability, specifications and service terms can change. Third-party links, affiliate offers and embedded YouTube videos are governed by the destination’s terms and privacy practices. A link or embed does not make DopeTech the seller or operator. See the affiliate disclosure.

Companies may quote a review only accurately, with the date and context reasonably clear. Editing a quote to reverse its meaning or presenting an expired award as current is not permitted.

DopeTech content and marks

Except for user submissions and identified third-party material, the site’s original text, design, software, graphics, selection and branding are owned by or licensed to the site operator and protected by applicable law. You may link to public pages and make fair, attributed uses permitted by law. Other reproduction, syndication or commercial reuse requires permission.

Third-party product names, logos and videos remain the property of their owners. Their appearance does not imply sponsorship.

Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, the website and general editorial content are provided “as available”. We do not guarantee that content is complete, error-free, continuously available, suitable for every purpose, or that a third-party product will perform as described in your environment. Community contributions are the views of their authors.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies a consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Australian Consumer Law where it applies. Any permitted limitation is read subject to those non-excludable protections.

Responsibility and liability

To the extent the law permits, DopeTech is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising only from reliance on free general editorial content, third-party conduct, unavailable features or external transactions. Any liability that cannot be excluded remains subject to applicable law. A paid service’s liability allocation belongs in its signed agreement rather than being inferred from these public terms.

You remain responsible for your decisions, backups, account security and lawful use. You are also responsible for loss reasonably caused by content you knowingly submit without required rights or by deliberate misuse of the service; this does not apply to the extent DopeTech caused or failed to reasonably mitigate the loss.

Moderation, suspension and changes

We may label, limit, reject or remove content and suspend access where reasonably necessary to enforce these terms, protect people or systems, comply with law, or preserve review integrity. Severity, history, risk and available context inform the response. The community guidelines explain moderation and appeals.

Terms can change as the service develops. Material changes receive a new effective date and, where appropriate, additional notice. Changes do not retroactively rewrite a signed enterprise agreement.
